Jason Picker

For the past several years Jason Picker has been a rising part of the San Diego jazz scene. Combining old-school blues with both traditional and modern jazz ideas, his unique style has found a place among the jazz clubs of San Diego. Jason is a member of Gilbert Castellano’s Young Lions All Stars, is part of the inaugural class of the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, and was named All Southern California Jazz Band Pianist two years in a row. Jason was a finalist in the Next Generation Jazz Festival, won the 2017 Spotlight Promise Award for jazz, and is also an award winning composer. Jason is currently recording his first all-original album. He will begin his studies at the USC Thornton School of Music this fall.
