Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Billy Woodson was born and raised in California and will die eventually but not any time in the near future. Being from the Golden State, he was brought up on the California sound of the Eagles, CSN&Y, Jackson Brown, Joni Mitchell, and other artistic denizens of Laurel Canyon. That sound as well as big dose of Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks and other British invasion artists help influence his own song writing style.
In his formative years, Billy fronted Orange County power rockers Sleeper with their only commercial release "Mine Tonight", a three-song EP that missed charting the Billboard top 200 by just a few hundred spots. But they were much more successful as a live act playing as many as twenty shows a month. Some shows found them opening for contemporaries Van Halen and 60's legends Steppenwolf.
Billy's calling for a pursuit in alternate forms of the creative arts took him to architecture school and a career in design. After some years Billy teamed up with long time friend and guitarist Steve Gage and formed the seminal British blues rock band English Motorbike. Their first release, Lonely Road, garnered international attention and shows with some of their rock heroes - Johnny Winter, The Zombies, Men at Work and Eric Burdon, among many others.
Recently, Billy has fronted several Southern California rock and classic rock bands including The Time Tunnels, Vinyl O.D. and The Struggle. But he is comfortably at home with an acoustic guitar, harmonica and a small audience with a presentation that has been called captivating and magical.
