Blackout Party started small, playing Monday nights
at a local dive, then things got crazy.
When BOP put out “Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed,"
Sdrocknroll.com called it “Top 5” albums of the year, and the
San Diego Music Awards named it “Best Local
Recording.” The SDMAs also gave BOP awards for
“Best Americana” and “Best Rock.”
For the new album, the BOP boys flew to Nashville
and tracked 11 songs at Zac Brown's Southern Ground
Studios, which is the same room where Foo Fighters
did their Sonic Highways Nashville episode.
Everything was recorded live to 2-inch tape using
vintage analog gear, and a vinyl release is set for
Fall 2015.

With recent TV placements on TNT and MTV, the
guys are aiming at a wider audience with the new
songs. Pauly Shore has been using their track
“California Sky” in his new documentary and podcast,
and the first single has been played heavily on San
Diego radio stations 91x and fm94/9. Look for “Float
On Towards Our Doom” on vinyl this winter.
