This Songstress began playing her original music as a teenager in San Diego County, starting in coffee houses, and then on to clubs and concert halls. Influenced by the strength and passion of the greats, she was inspired to form her own unique vocal and musical style. Donna Larsen has performed in duos, trios and with big bands, and has cherished her experiences of performing in North America from Alaska to Oaxaca, Mexico, and in Prague, Budapest and Vienna. The richness of these varied cultures has contributed to her music becoming more insightful and spiritually centered.
Donna is currently in Noisy Cricket Recording Studio producing the CD for "In My Own Backyard", her beautifully illustrated Children's Picture Songbook. This Children’s Sing-Along Picture Songbook/CD Set offers up heartwarming and imaginative songs about all that is real and imagined in a child's backyard. Characters come to life through her music, written to take you right along with any child or adult into their hearts and minds.
As Executive Producer of The San Diego Indie Acoustic Original Artist Showcase, Donna is engaged in selecting thought provoking and entertaining songwriters to share with her audiences. Each Showcase is carefully orchestrated to give the listener a unique musical experience which will always be remembered!
