About Saxophonist Vic Robles

Inspired by early jazz legends of the '50s '60s and '70s, Vic Robles grew up playing along with his little cassette player in the dinning room of the family's home in Chicago. In 1976 his parents for his birthday, bought him a new Selmer Mark 6 alto saxophone. His parents have always been a big supporter of his music. After high school he was part of a small group that he formed called Spectrum that performed at small fairs around northern Wisconsin for two summers. The summer of 1984 he performed with the Baraboo Summer Jazz Band and sat in with local bands around Madison WI. In 1986 he moved to California where he put music to the side to work in a sales career. During a low time in his life he was forced to sell his horn just to eat. In 1995 his boss Don Nalian gave him the best Christmas gift he ever received, a new saxophone! It wasn't until 2010 when the music bug hit him with a vengeance!
