SM Familia is a reggae/cumbia band based out of San Diego, CA. They offer the full 8 piece band that inculdes a horn section and percussion section and the singer breaks off for smaller events by offering solo loop station, tduo and trio acts that include on of their renown horn players. Singing in English and Spanish, Gato and the crew offer amazing talent and energy at every performance whether 1 musician or all 8 members. They have been nominated for San Diego Music Awards twice and have played all of the prestigious venues like Musicbox and Bellyup, and festivals Bayfest in Embarcadero with Stick Figure and also played the first drive in concert during 2020 during the Corona Virus Pandemic.

We are able to cater to many types of events as upscale or casual as required. We have a full sound system and engineer to handle huge events. We carry a professional sound system capable of handling our full band to an outdoor setting and have lighting rigs in needed as well.
