My name is Gary Calvaneso and I specialize in Classic Rock hits from the 50's thru 90’s and beyond. I can accommodate almost any entertainment environment with soft rock or wind it up with a playlist of the most popular and fun classic rock dance songs! Along with my live performance on Acoustic-Electric Guitar, I incorporate the use of a live Vocal Harmonizer and other hi-tech effects (not Karaoke) to produce a perfect blend of instrumentation that makes my sound full and engaging. I am also known as “The Tribute Man” for the wide variety of artists I cover. I am available for parties, corporate events, and a variety of music venues.

January Grit met in New York City in the Autumn of 2017. Inspired by the city's rhythm and restlessness they began creating music together and gigging around the city. In January of 2018 the duo moved to Toronto, Canada. They toured the city, performed at multiple venues and were selected as winners of Toronto's Underground Sounds Competition with Universal Music Canada. In June, 2018 January Grit spent a month in Sydney, gigging across the city. Recently, their original song, "Sway," was featured in a Map of the Heart fragrance commercial directed by Jeff Darling. Inspired by artists such as Hozier, Jeff Buckley, Madeleine Peyroux, Nina Simone, and Etta James, January Grit brings forward a unique combination of jazz, indie, folk, and alternative. January Grit has since moved to Orange County, where they are performing live shows and finalizing their debut album, which will be available in January 2019! January Grit is available to book for weddings, private events, restaurants, coffee shop gigs, and more!

Born and raised in Encinitas, California, Rhian has been singing and performing in one or another since she was 2 years old. She is a talented singer-songwriter and keyboard and acoustic guitar player. Her music can be described as pop, indie, folk and Neo folk. She can also play a wide-range of covers from a variety of genres. Receiving the national Quincy Jones Musicianship Award, at the age of 16, Rhian was recognized by the San Diego Union Tribune for her original song, “A War That Can’t Be Won” which gained nationwide attention. Rhian always makes a connection with her audience and has been told over and over what an impact she has with her music. Rhian performs both originals and covers and has been performing all over San Diego County since she was 14 years old. She has also performed in Los Angeles, Denver, Portland and Kauai. Rhian earned her BFA in Voice Arts Performance from California Institute of the Arts and currently a Master student at USC's Thornton School of Music at USC. A singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Rhian can provide her own instruments and sound. She is a dynamic performer who has a unique to connect with and move an audience.

From Original to a wide variety of covers, Rheanna Downey performs as a solo artist as well as a duo(vocal/strings/lead guitar). She has toured across the globe and within her own United States, releasing one full length record and several smaller projects. Her style includes an original folk/soul/rock/country vibe that is perfect for any event. She has released original music on LA's indie Label, Cleopatra Records and has played many notable venues including San Diego's Belly Up, as well as gaining the attention of local radio stations.

grampadrew is a songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist based in San Diego, California. His music is steeped in diverse influences from Willie Nelson to Joy Division, John Prine to Crass, creating a voice that is uniquely grampadrew. His performances have been described as alternating between the quiet of a grave digger and the fire of a street preacher. In addition to his own musical projects, he also heads the songwriter collective known as The Flim Flam Revue and plays the Greek bouzuki and musical saw in Julia Sage and the Bad Hombres. An ecclectic and passionate performer, he is best understood live where he cajoles, beguiles and occasionally good naturedly insults his audience into submission.

ABOUT US Backroads is a group of experienced musicians who enjoy playing the music they love and grew up with for as many people as they can. They are based in North County San Diego, but will travel to wherever the need for their music brings them. Beatles, Eagles, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Santana, Poco, Jason Aldean, America, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, Allman Brothers, just to name a few are the artists they cover, with smooth vocal harmonies and sharp playing.

BAM! Acoustic Duo

Acoustic Duo playing the best songs from the 70s and 80s to today. Fun, interactive stage show featuring an ever-rotating selection of silly costumes, audience prizes and grab bags. Audience involvement is a key part of the show, where the audience is encouraged to sing through the dedicated audience mic and even help with song selection. Fun aside, BAM! is also incredibly talented and will wow the crowd with the breadth of songs they play, from Johnny Cash to Journey to Queen, there are few artists outside of their range. Sean Cox is a local San Diego musician and songwriter. Projects over the last 15 years include solo work, Social Green, Big Penny, Bandalier, The Lucy Ring, The Jesse Ray Smith Duo, and more recently, Burden Feathers. You can see him performing frequently around town playing an array of music from originals to covers spanning Classic Rock, Folk, Americana, and British Pop. Some of his greatest musical influences include The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Classic Country; but his well for music runs deep. Sean is available as a soloist, duo, trio, or full band.
