Randi Driscoll
Randi Driscoll is an award winning singer/songwriter and actress whose sound has been described as country music; meets modern musical theater. Her music has been featured in film, popular television shows, and a commercial directed by Spike Lee, in which Randi also appeared. Her performance credits include appearances at Lincoln Center, Place des Arts (Montreal), The Joint, ( Hard Rock, Las Vegas), The Ford Theatre (Los Angeles) and hundreds of universities, performance halls, nightclubs and cabarets, all over the U.S and Canada. Randi’s live shows focus on her storytelling, as she weaves humor and real-life drama together, accompanied by an original soundtrack of piano-driven songs. Randi has lent her music to several different causes, and non-profit organizations, and she travels the country, talking about these charities and presenting her concert program “Music That Matters”. One of Randi’s most notable works is her original song “What Matters”, an anti-hate ballad that has been featured in films, documentaries. and several stage productions of “The Laramie Project”. Proceeds from the song support the Matthew Shepard Foundation, and their work to end bullying. The choral version of “What Matters" has been performed by over fifty choirs internationally, and has been featured at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Disney Hall in California. A film about the making of Randi's song "What Matters" has earned several awards and the song itself was named one of the top Pride Anthems, by the Advocate Magazine. Randi tours year round, solo or with her musical partner; multi-instrumentalist, Noah Heldman, performing her original music. Randi has just released her latest full length cd, “Glass Slipper”, produced in part, by Grammy winner Larry Mitchell. “Glass Slipper” features eleven original songs, and highlights on the CD include a duet with People Magazine's up and coming country artist, Aaron Parker, and a wide range of special guests, including Grammy award winning cellist, Dave Eggar. The CD also features the track “No Song”, which won the 2012 Song of the Year contest (AAA category). Most recently, Randi appeared alongside Mary McDonnell and Bradley Whitford, in the Laramie Project, Epilogue in Santa Monica, CA ( Romaine Patterson) and her originals songs, were also included as the soundtrack of the event.
